We’d thought about visiting Scotland and Ireland in 2020 but had to abandon that because of Covid. We’re now into 2021 and so have been thinking about whether we should resurrect those plans. We’ve decided not to for this year.
Firstly for Scotland: it’s only just now that that the restrictions are being lifted but lots of the CAMC sites are fully booked – and also, it’s getting into the midges time of year so that rules out Scotland.
Secondly, sad to say that Northern Ireland is still effectively in the EU so we want to let that settle down before we cross the GB/EU border. Pet’s Passport is no longer applicable and there are restrictions regarding taking food into the EU so we’ll let that all settle down before we cross that border.
So, we’ve decided to stay within the English borders and have booked a few Caravan and Motorhome Club sites in South Eastern England. We’ll be setting off mid-June and we’re really looking forward to a couple of weeks break.
